Time flies when you’re enjoying a cheeky cocktail or two – which is certainly the case for CH9’s Travel Guides’ most celebrated carefree couple, Matt & Brett. For 5 seasons and counting (through to 2025), this travelling twosome have enjoyed a few fancy brews across 6 continents, providing us with an incredible catalogue of close to 50 bucket list destinations jam-packed with globe-trotting vacations, ‘Aussie’ backyard nearcations, and even a staycation in their beloved hometown, anchored on the Hunter River along the NSW north coast. With combined backgrounds in education and tourism, no matter where in the world Matt & Brett find themselves, they’ve developed a savvy skill of ordering luscious libations in any language! Humbled by regional grassroots values and mutual manners, Matt & Brett are truly a match made for one another; together for 22 inseparable years and happily married for over 10 (having tied the knot in Aotearoa (NZ for you and me!), miraculously they’ve never fought…and that’s because Matt’s always right!
When they’re otherwise not ‘Travel Guiding’ 2.3 million fans of the nation’s Best Lifestyle Program (for three-consecutive years too!), you’ll likely find them behind the wheel of an off-road Subaru or ‘Vinnie’, their VW Caddycamper, wanderlusting their gratifying getaways. .But one thing’s sure, to keep on their annual travel itinerary, they cross the ditch to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
Happily trading high-adrenaline action for more aspirational adventures, a good holiday hook for Matt & Brett is kayaking and karaoke. Combine it with the other three big loves: cruise ships, big city capers, and cracker-jack cuisine, and all bets are off it’ll be time for celebratory cocktails! Always equipped with an excuse to celebrate life to the max, Matt & Brett’s mantra that “time waits for no one” has seen them proudly navigate their life journeys. Seemingly ahead of the times, thanks in part to their socially progressive proclivities and down-to-earth sensibilities, no wonder they’re reputation as the voice of reason amongst family and friends, both on and off the show!
