Finding & using your unique voice (purpose)
Do you regularly find yourself changing who you are, depending on who you’re surrounded by? When we find the confidence to be our true selves, to everyone, all the time – that is where our real power lies. Maritza spent too many years living her life the way she ‘assumed’ others expected her to be, and what she thought was accepted by those that surrounded her. She later realised that she was letting this affect her every move and thought – and it was holding her back from a life of freedom and happiness. When we allow ourselves the power to be our true self – no matter who, when, what and where we are, we become truly aligned and happy. Our health improves, our clarity improves and we begin to live a life of purpose. Maritza shares her journey, her limiting beliefs and the journey it took to become the person she is today, so that you can step into a life where you unapologetically use your voice for its true purpose.
Human connection and the loneliness epidemic
The loneliness epidemic was around long before this pandemic, and we are aware that the power of human connection is the main cornerstone to a life of health and happiness. More than ever before, we need to shine a light on the wellbeing of people and their experience of social isolation.
Psychology Week reports that: 1 in 4 Australians feel lonely; many Australians report anxiety about socialising; and thirty per cent don’t feel part of a group of friends. Maritza shares her journey of launching global company, Conscious Conversations, which aims to spark five million genuine & meaningful conversations over the next five years to close the gap for those experiencing lack of quality human connection.
Stepping out of your comfort zone to find the magic / Life defining moments
Pushing ourselves into discomfort allows us to step into the unknown and out of the fear. This is where we learn and grow the most. This is where the magic lies in our lives.
When Maritza was 17 years old, she and her classmates were approached by their careers counsellor and asked what their plans were once they left high school. As all of her friends gave their sensible responses, they were acknowledged and accepted. As it was Maritza’s turn to share, she felt a burning in her chest and the aching to say her truth. The next words that came out of her mouth sent her on a career pathway that didn’t align with her dreams. She let fear take over and hold her back for over 10 years. Maritza talks through those (either small or massive) life defining moments that shape our future, and how if we consciously decide to step outside the norm, what magic is left for us to discover on the other side.
